MRS CHOOKS (2020)
Mrs Chooks is a short film capturing my grandmother’s daily ritual of feeding her chickens. Shot with a single camera and crafted through continuous cutting on action, the film reveals the small moments that shape her morning; from unlocking the pens my grandfather built for her, to the scattering grain alongside her kitchen garden. Set in the misty early hours in Maleny, where creeks thread through the land and birds fill the cool silence, the piece celebrates ritual, memory, and sustainable living. We acknowledge the Jinibara as the First Nations owners of the land where this film was captured.
